For CBSE +2 Result -How to calculate Cutoff mark for Engineering and Medical with CBSE +2 Marks

Since lots of students taking Engineering and Medical after completing their school studies from CBSE syllabus. Lots of students are still in confuse how to calculate the cutoff marks for Engineering and Medical admission through Anna University Counselling. Here we had explained briefly about this calcultion sapartely for Engineering and Medical.

For Engineering Admission from CBSE :

The first and foremost condition is that the student must had score 50% marks in 12th class are eligible to apply for engineering course.
For Engineering three main subjects namely Physics, Chemistry and Maths are considered. Maths is the main core subject in Engineering and hence its mark is given more important while calculating cutoff marks.
Step 1 : Divide maths mark by 2 - - ans1
Step 2 : Divide physics marks by 4 - - ans2
Step 3 : Divide chemistrys marks by 4 - - ans3
Step4 :  Add ans1+ans2+ans3 which gives the cut off mark out of 200

Example if you had scored 198 in maths, 188 in Physics anf 196 in chemistry
Step 1 : 198/2 = 99
Step 2 : 188/4 = 47
Step 3 : 196/4 = 49
Step 4 : Cutoff mark = 99+47+49 =195
Cutoff mark for above mentioned mark is 195

For Medical Admission from CBSE :

Its almost same as above mention, but Biology mark is considered insted of maths marks in the Medical admission.

Based on your Cutoff (out of 200), ranking will be provided. Based on your overall rank you will be called for counselling. On that day, you can select the colleges which are available for your cutoff. For counselling separate application will be issued for medical and Engineering which had been in progress.
