How to file a tax return for individuals having income from salary

Pre requisite:Form 16,and PAN card (Refer Note)

Step 1: Type the URL https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/

Step 2:Register Yourself -Give all your basic details and register in the website

Step 3: Login with your username and password.

Step 4:Click Download ITR link in the left side

Step 5:Download ITR1 excel sheet

Step 6:Fill the fields with accurate figures mentioned in Form 16.You need to fill all the worksheet.

Step 7:Once all the worksheets are filled validate the excel

Step 8: Generate the xml out of the filled excel(Generate option is already present in the xl sheet in the top right corner)

Step 9: Login to the URL https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/

Step 10:Click Upload Return Link

Step 11:Select ITR form as ITR1,Assesment Year-Up coming year(for eg:If you are filing returns in 2013 assessment year will be 2013-2014)

Step 12:Attach the xml file generated in step 8

Step 13:Digitally signed "No"

Step 14:Submit

Step 15:Once you submit Acknowdgement document will be given

Note:

Form 16:  At the end of financial year, company must issue a form 16 which contains the details about the salary earned by that employee and how much tax deducted. It will have details on each month. In simple terms Form 16 is details about the tax deducted by the employer in behalf of employee. The same will be paid to governemt by the company. Many people thing that getting the Form 16 alone is enough for the tax filing. Tax payer has to use the Form 16 to file the IT return every financial year end.

PANCARD: PAN Card is a laminated card issued by the Income Tax Department in India. PAN stands for Permanent Account Number and it is a ten-digit alphanumeric code generated and issued by the Indian Income Tax Department, to uniquely identify every tax paying person (assesee) in India.

Autonomy for a college indicates a couple of positive things about the college:

i)There are 37 Passport Offices in the country delivering passport 
services to citizens. Besides, the Ministry of External Affairs (CPV
 Division)in respect of diplomatic and official passports issuance
 and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Administration also 
act as Passport Issuing Authority.

ii)With the implementation of the Passport Seva Project, 77
 Passport Seva Kendras are working as extended arms 
of Regional Passport Offices. An applicant may ascertain
 the jurisdiction of Regional Passport Office and Passport 
Seva Kendra before submitting an application.

iii) Under Passport Seva, the new measures and procedures
 have been  introduced in order to improve governance in Passport
 Offices. The new measures and procedures are aimed at 
ensuring citizens’ comfort, improvement in delivery of passport 
services, transparency and enhanced security. Applicants 
are now required to present themselves at the respective 
 Passport Seva Kendra to enable the Passport Issuing
 Authority to obtain applicants’ photographs, biometrics and 
 granting decision in their presence.

Online Registration & Appointment:

The online appointment system has been introduced to ensure 
avoiding congestion at the Passport Seva Kendras and 
cutting down waiting time for applicants. Appointments are 
 allotted according to handling capacity of a Passport Seva 
Kendra and are based on an electronic queue management 
system.Following steps may be followed to obtain and manage 
appointment:

Step 1:

Visit the website www.passportindia.gov.in;

Step 2:

Register ‘user name’and assign a ‘password’;

Step 3:

Log in using your ‘user name’ and ‘password’;

Step 4:

Fill online application form as the case may
be and submit online(alternatively, download
e-form, fill up and upload the same at the
portal).Uploading of documents is optional;

Step 5:

Now take an appointment to visit the nearest 
Passport Seva Kendra (appointments are 
released region wise).It is advised that the
citizen should be ready with step ‘1’ to ‘4’ 

above beforethe ‘appointment release time’. 
As soon as appointments are released(please
see region-wise timings),they should click on
‘ScheduleAppointment’ link to book the 
appointment. Appointment will be automatically
booked and allocated to you if available.

Note:

Online Payment has been made mandatory 
for booking appointments at Passport Seva 
Kendras (PSKs) under some of  the Passport 
Offices. For remaining Passport Seva Kendras/
Passport Offices, Online Payment will be 
applicable forscheduling appointment in due

reserved category) in the qualifying degree examination.
i.    with TANCET 2012 score (or)
ii.   with valid GATE 2012 score with qualifying marks prescribed for assistantship in the
      appropriate discipline of Engineering / Technology (or)
iii.  with valid GATE 2012 score with qualifying marks prescribed for assistantship in
      Engineering Science (XE) and Life Science (XL) papers along with TANCET 2012
      score shall be considered for admission to M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan. degree
      programmes.

Seats are reserved for Differently Abled candidates as per the Government norms under

enclosing a copy of Permanent Community Certificate card), (includes postal charges)
along with a requisition letter and an address slip written in capital letters from the
Secretary, TANCA, Anna university, Chennai - 600 025.
REGISTRATION THROUGH INTERNET: The candidates can also register through
internet by logging on to www.annauniv.edu/tanca2012. The procedure for registration
is available in the website.
The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of “The Secretary Tamil Nadu
Common Admission, Anna University, Chennai – 25” payable at chennai drawn
on or after 15.07.2012.
Counselling date will be intimated to the individuals through a call letter and will also be
published in Anna University, Chennai website.
