ABOUT CODER PREMIER LEAGUE

Have you heard of robot wars? This event is similar, except that your bot will battle the other bots! Each team will be writing a program (bot) to compete in a game against the bots from the other teams. Let’s say the game is Tic-Tac-Toe. You will submit a program (bot) incorporating the best strategy to play tic-tac-toe. 

Your bot will play against the bots submitted by your opponents via Soltion’s gaming platform SBOX. The tournament will contain a round robin stage followed by a knockout stage.

On the event day at 9 AM, we will reveal the rules of the game and you will have time until next day 9 AM to program your bot. During the 24 hours, you will be able to battle the bots being developed by the other teams and also play against the bots submitted by the organizers and develop your strategy and modify your program. You can play any number of games until 9 AM the next day, when the coding stops and the tournament begins to determine the top teams and the final champion. Soliton will provide all the meals and unlimited snacks during the event. Further details about logistics, etc. will be provided shortly.

If you want to test your coding skills against the other top coders in Coimbatore, this is your chance. For this competition, you will need a mix of game playing logic and coding skills.

Can I get a sample question before the event that will help me prepare for the event?

Yes, questions will be sent to the registered participants before the event via email.

What coding language I can use?

Any programing language that supports TCP\IP protocol. You should be able to open a port and listen to it and communicate via it. Its’ no big deal and most programming languages support it.

During the event, can I use the code that I have written before the event or download any code from internet?

No, you have to write everything during the event. Any attempt to use code from previous work would lead to disqualification.

During the event, can I use the code written before the event?

No

I can’t stay for 24 hours. Can I still participate?

Yes. The event duration is 24 hours and the final tournament among all the participants would happen after 24 hours. You can take breaks as you like and make sure you are available for the final tournament.

Can I Participate via online?

No. All participants have to be present at Soliton on both Dec 1st and Dec 2nd 2018.

Will the event complete in 24 hrs or will it go beyond that?

Event programming duration is 24 hrs (Dec 1st 9 AM to Dec 2nd 9AM) and the final tournament will start at 9 AM on Dec 2nd. The final tournament will take 3 hrs (including prize distribution). We recommend you check in at Soliton by 7 30 AM on Dec 1st.

Would you teach us programming?

No, this is not a training event and we expect the participants to know the language that they choose to program very well. We would explain the question though and help if you have any questions w.r.t to the question.

Registration

How can I confirm that I am registered? Will I receive a registration confirmation email?

Yes, You will get an email with registration link. Once you fill in the details and make the payment you would be confirmed. You would get a confirmation email.

Can I pay my registration fee during the event?

No, the registration fee has to be paid online before the event, only then your participation will be confirmed

Can I cancel my registration? Will I get refunded?

You may cancel your registration, but the registration amount would not be refunded.

How many members are allowed in a team?

Food and Transport

Will I have transport arrangements to and from Soliton/Tidel Park on the event days?

Hopes to/from Tidel Park: 7:30 AM - 8:45 AM on Dec 1

Hopes to/from Tidel Park: 11 AM - 1 PM at Dec 2

Can I bring viewers/guardians along with me for the event?

No, Only Participants are allowed in the office

Do I need to pay for food/snacks separately?

Snacks and food are complementary
