GATE 2015 Dates and Application

ATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) 2015 will be conducted by IIT Kanpur for 22 papers in 10 sessions. Starting from Jan 31st 2015, Ending on February 1st 2015. If in case any unforeseen situations faced during first ten sessions, exam will be scheduled on 21 February 2015.

      The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched a job portal linking students and companies. Designed for educational institutions in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, the portal allows students/companies to access and upload the profiles of each other.

Depending on the vacancy and suitability of the candidates, the companies would invite them to online tests followed by personal interview.

How to see NASA station with our naked eyes...

Time is when the sighting opportunity will begin in your local time zone. All sightings will occur within a few hours before or after sunrise or sunset. This is the optimum viewing period as the sun reflects off the space station and contrasts against the darker sky.

Visible is the maximum time period the space station is visible before crossing back below the horizon.

Max Height is measured in degrees (also known as elevation). It represents the height of the space station from the horizon in the night sky. The horizon is at zero degrees, and directly overhead is ninety degrees. If you hold your fist at arm’s length and place your fist resting on the horizon, the top will be about 10 degrees.

Appears is the location in the sky where the station will be visible first. This value, like maximum height, also is measured in degrees from the horizon. The letters represent compass directions -- N is north, WNW is west by northwest, and so on.

Disappears represents where in the night sky the International Space Station will leave your field of view.

Important: The International Space Station orbits with an inclination of 51.6 degrees. This means that, as it orbits, the farthest north and south of the Equator it will ever go is 51.6 degrees latitude. If you live north or south of 51.6 degrees, the ISS will never go directly over your head- this includes places like Alaska. Tamil Nadu State Level Placement Programme” (TNSLPP) @ Chennai on 7th & 8th March 2014.

Anna Univeristy, Chennai had organized “Tamil Nadu State Level Placement Programme” (TNSLPP) 2013-14, recently for M/s Infosys Limited for the Present Final Year (2014 Passing Out) Students studying in University Colleges and Self Financing Engineering Colleges of Tamil Nadu. In Chennai zone, 2307 students had par

ticipated during 27th & 28th December 2013 held at Anand Institute of Higher Technology, Kazhipattur. In Coimbatore zone, 2707 students had participated during 3rd, 4th & 5th January 2014 held at Kathir College of Engineering, Neelambur and in Madurai zone, 2376 students had participated during 10th & 11th January 2014 held at PSN College of Engineering and Technology, Melathediyoor.

                During the above events, some of the eligible students could not participate due to non-registration /non-generation of the Hall Ticket. For those students, M/s Infosys Limited has given consent to provide opportunity and accordingly it is planned to conduct the TNLSPP drive at Chennai (at one zone only, for all such students from all the 3 zones) on 7th & 8th March 2014.

The venue for this programme is Prathyusha Institute of Technology and Management, Poonamallee - Thiruvallur Road, Aranvoyal Kuppam, Thiruvallur District - 602 025.

Final year students of B.E. / B.Tech. (CSE, ECE, EEE, EIE, ICE & IT) with CGPA 7.50 (no rounding off) and above (No Standing Arrears) from I Semester to Last Semester are eligible to participate in this programme. It is mandatory that all the students should have secured an average of 75.00% (no rounding off) and above marks consistently in 10th Std. and 12th Std. Note that the students who had already attended in previous drives of M/s Infosys held during Dec. 2013 & Jan. 2014 are NOT eligible to attend now. It is requested that the Principal / Placement Officer of the College should ensure the same and also verify the marks of the students and certify their eligibility to attend the TNSLPP.

All the eligible candidates have to pay a one time Registration fee of Rs. 750/- (Rupees Seven hundred and fifty only) in the form of Demand draft drawn in favour of “The Director, CUIC, Anna University” payable at Chennai. However, students who have already paid the Registration Fee for the academic year 2013-2014 need not pay again and should bring their CUIC Placement Passport Book without fail. The Placement Officers are requested to help the students in the registration process. M/s Infosys Limited has agreed to provide a helpdesk, at the venue on 6th March 2014 for the students who are having difficult to generate their Hall Ticket.

The Placement Officers may collect the Registration Fee from the students and make One Consolidated Demand Draft and submit the hard copy of the registration form (Annexure-I) along with the Consolidated Demand Draft to the CUIC Staff Members camped at Prathyusha Institute of Technology and Management, Thiruvallur District on 07.03.2014 at 7.30 a.m. at the time of Registration.
